Tom Tybeck, LPC joined Commonwealth Psychological Services, PLC this spring as a member of the counseling team.  Tom has over 20+ years in counseling experience.  He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and holds a Certificate as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist.  His clinical experience includes clinical focus on marriage and family counseling, children with developmental disabilities, grief, and cognitive restructuring.  He sees children through adults, individuals and families. Tom holds membership in several professional associations such as the:

• Virginia Board of Counseling
  
• National Board of Certified Counselors
  
• National Acupuncture Detoxification Association
• National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. 

Tom has worked as a pastoral counselor where he gained extensive experience in working with couples, families, and individuals prior to pursuing his MA in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University.  He went on to gain additional experience in substance abuse counseling.  Tom is well known as a compassionate yet highly qualified clinician.
