Tybeck Joins CPS Counseling Staff Posted 2009-6-10

HARRISONBURG - Commonwealth Psychological Services of Harrisonburg has added counselor Tom Tybeck to its counseling team.

Tybeck has more than 20 years of experience in the counseling field. He is certified as a licensed professional counselor, a nationally certified counselor and holds a certificate as an acupuncture detoxification specialist.

Tybeck's fields of practice include a clinical focus on marriage and family counseling and children with developmental disabilities. He also specializes in grief counseling and cognitive restructuring, a form of therapy that addresses negative thinking and the emotional and behavioral problems that often accompany it.

He sees children, adolescents and adults, and counsels both individuals and families.

Tybeck holds membership in several professional associations, including the Virginia Counselors Association and the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.

He will work out of Commonwealth Psychological Services' Harrisonburg office, located at 2322 Blue Stone Hills Drive.
